4: Kemer

Only 55km from Antalya airport and 40 km from Antalya, Turkey's best planned holiday resort, Kemer, is located. Kemer is a nice and lovely holiday resort, which in recent years has been slowly develop. However, it is not grown in height, but has retained its charm with low buildings, narrow streets and charming squares. Here you will find restaurants, bars and shops with a little exclusive appearance, which also contributes to Kemers charming style and international flair. The small town's heart is the large marina, which has become a gathering place, full of life. It is one of the Mediterranean's largest guest ports for long distance sailors and you can spend hours admiring the luxurious yachts. Two fine beaches are located centrally on each side of Kemers marina which are surrounded by restaurants. City beach is a pebble beach with clear water. Moonlight Beach is composed of coarse sand and is slightly more shallow and child-friendly.
The ski resort in Tahtali is located just 16km from Kemer, and makes the Kemer area attractive all year aroung.




Kemer


Kemer is divided into several areas. Kemer city is the main town of the areas and has about 20,000 permanent residents, north of the city is Arslanbucak, to the west the areas Kiriş and Camyuva and to the east the holiday resort Göynük.
The whole area is very beautiful and known for its citrus groves, pine forests and stunning beaches located in Kemer but also Kiriş, Camyuva and Göynük. Over the last 5-6 years, Turks from other parts of Turkey, and Westerners have begun to invest in holiday homes in this area. It is limited what could be built, max 3 floor in the area, because it is protected, therefore, this area has retained its charm. Only 17 miles from downtown is the new skiing resort "Tahtali" which make the area is both summer and winter destination. Each town has its own little downtown area where there are restaurants, bars and shopping. If you want to go and see a little more there is good bus connection to Kemer city the year round.
